Geophysicist

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Geophysicist to join our team. The successful candidate will work on processing data from marine geophysical surveys, including sidescan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, magnetometer, and multibeam echosounder. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates or those early in their career to grow and develop in a dynamic and supportive environment. The role will occasionally require going offshore for field surveys.

Responsibilities:

• Process and analyze marine geophysical data from sidescan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, magnetometer, and multibeam echosounder.
• Use specialized software such as SonarWiz, Qimera, and EIVA for data processing and interpretation.
• Collaborate with senior geophysicists and other team members to ensure data quality and accuracy.
• Prepare detailed reports and visualizations of survey data.
• Participate in occasional offshore field surveys as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Familiarity with sidescan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, magnetometer, and multibeam echosounder data is preferred.
• Experience with software tools like SonarWiz, Qimera, and EIVA is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Willingness and ability to go offshore for field surveys occasionally.
