Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Chonnam National University, South Korea, is inviting applicants for a PhD or Integrated (master-PhD) program in research related to Fuel Cell research.

Project Background

Fuel cells are a promising alternative energy technology demonstrating high energy conversion efficiency and fuel flexibility. However, the development of reliable and cost-effective materials for fabrication remains a significant challenge. The research to develop has become increasingly important in the field, as it enables researchers to predict and understand the properties of materials used in FCs.

Requirements

Applicants should have a bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry or chemical engineering from Indonesia. The ideal candidate also has one or more of the following:

• Keen interest in the field of electrochemistry.
• Candidates with experience in DFT are plus.
• Familiarity with Fuel Cells or Electrolysis Cells is an asset.
• Applied nano-scale synthesis and characterization technique in FCs. 
• Proficiency in written and oral English communication (CEFR B2).

Important Dates

This full-time position allows students to delve into energy science and gain fundamental knowledge of electrochemical processes, materials science, and engineering. Applications are accepted until 30 March 2025. The tentative starting date is Falls September 2025.
